POSITION DETAILS
Position Title: Retail Employee 
Location: The Collective Loxton, 31 East Tce Loxton
Reporting to: Management Committee, The Collective Loxton
Remuneration Permanent Part Time salary Retail Award, Level 3
Hours of work Part-Time, 10 hours per week (Thursday and Friday). Some additional hours and weekend work may be available.
Termination Continuity of employment subject to annual performance review. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Retail Employee is responsible for supporting the Management Committee to ensure the smooth and effective operation of The Collective Loxton and its retail residents.

The Retail Employee will provide sound, effective and accurate information to the Management Committee and serve as the primary contact for The Collective Loxton on Thursdays and Fridays.

The Retail Employee will work with the Management Committee, retail residents, key stakeholders and industry groups to achieve the objectives and goals of The Collective Loxton. 

The Retail Employee may be required to oversee volunteers.  This role encompasses store displays, artisan relations, social media and website maintenance. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Level 3 requirements: 

    • Ensure the efficient operation of the retail store, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers and artisans.

    • Collaborate with volunteers and artisans to streamline processes and improve the overall customer experience.

    • Ensure effective and timely channels of communication. 

    • Maintain The Collectives records and files in conjunction with the Management Committee.

    • Banking and recording daily takings.

  • Artisan Relations:

    • Cultivate strong relationships with retail residents by providing personalised support and facilitating clear communication between artisans and The Collective.

  • Marketing activities:

    • Drive awareness and engagement for The Collective through targeted social media posts, creating compelling content that showcases the unique products and stories of retail residents.

    • Maintain The Collective website.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in retail and visual merchandising preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders including volunteers.

  • Proficiency in social media and website updates.

  • Highly organised with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Digital literacy including Google suite and the ability to use a range of technologies and programs.

  • Passion for supporting local artisans and promoting community-driven initiatives.

  • High level of commitment, enthusiasm, and self-motivation to drive the success of The Collective.

  • Work autonomously and efficiently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
